Beautiful World

I am excited that my book is currently with the talented Lucy at Carnegie Publishing. She is working on the design and layout, deciding on page sizes, fonts, illustrations, and so forth. She’s nearly done, and from the sample that I have seen it’s going to be beautiful. After that, it’s back to Elaine at Zuntold publishing, then off for a final proof-read before going to the printers. I am desperate to get this book out into the world; it’s been a two and a half year project. I know that the result will be worth the effort.

Zuntold is a small but perfectly formed publishing company run by my wife, and Carnegie is owned and run by Anna, our good friend from University. My book, Interviews with Beekeepers, is a bit of a departure for Zuntold. It’s their first non-fiction book and the first by a walrus. However, Carnegie has been producing high-quality non-fiction works for many years. Several of Zuntold’s publications have a mental health theme and in some ways that is appropriate. For many people keeping bees is a perfect antidote to the pressures of modern life.

Many of the places I visited as I travelled to meet my beekeeping heroes were places that I would not otherwise have been to. I have fond memories and some stunning photographs from those adventures. I thought I’d share some of the non-beekeeping images because (a) it’s a beautiful world and (b) it means I have fewer words to write this time 🙂
