To the handful of crazy beekeepers who wait in anticipation for my blog posts – there are a few, apparently – I’m afraid this one is basically a few photographs that I have taken this season. It’s all too much effort to string words together into sentences, because I have just MOVED HOUSE. This means that I spend far too much time unpacking things, buying new things, and then building them. I will soon attach our new doorbell to the front of the house; an exciting moment. Needless to say, beekeeping has taken a back seat.

On the beekeeping front, we have just put clearer boards onto a batch of hives (containing bees and honey), so the two-week job of harvesting and extracting our summer crop has begun. I am still raising small numbers of queens, and am excited about a new breeder queen that arrived recently.

Anyway, here are some photographs/videos – I hope you like them.

I will try to write something life-affirming and so stunning that it changes your beekeeping forever…next time!

I think we’re going to need a bigger (dog) bed.
Congratulations on the move. Moving house mid-season is tough, particularly if the bees have to be moved as well. I did it almost exactly one year ago … and there’s still stuff I can’t find 😞.

Thanks David. I will shortly be finding out if any swarming happened in July! So far I found one but the wasps killed it. Rubbish colony anyway, so they helped me out.

We have a big dog bed downstairs and that cosy one in the kitchen/diner. She can sleep anywhere, like her owner 🤣.
